Felt Mouse
This wireless mouse is made from natural wool felt and laminated bamboo ply:
The felt’s softness and plyability makes the mouse comfortable without looking cartoonishly ergonomic.
The button layout follows the golden rectangle.

[...] This wool felt and laminated bamboo ply mouse is soft and ergonomic the same way that a brick is not. Instead of being angled and curve and rounded to fit exactly to your hand (when in the claw position), it’s box-shaped and conforms when you squeeze down on it. It’s unclear why the designer made the right mouse button so much smaller than the left, but we’re glad there’s still room for that laser sight on the bottom. How this thing is going to charge is beyond our puny understanding of physics. You charge it by removing the bottom layer and replacing the batteries. [Joey Roth via Yanko Design] [...]

[...] Filed under: Peripherals We have little choice but to take Joey Roth’s word for it, but we’ve got our reservations about this one. The so-called Felt Mouse forgoes the typical dome shape that most mice made this millennium share in favor of a totally blockish — and likely uncomfortable — design. Conceptually, at least, the critter is indeed wireless, and while you will notice a right and left click, you can forget about finding one of those fancy “scroll wheel” contraptions. The unit is said to be constructed primarily from “natural wool felt and laminated bamboo ply,” and the former will apparently conform to your hand when you grab hold. Check out the underbelly after the jump — we promise carpal tunnel syndrome can’t be contracted visually.[Via YankoDesign]Continue reading Felt Mouse puts a different spin on ergonomics Read | Permalink | Email this | CommentsOffice Depot Featured Gadget: Xbox 360 Platinum System Packs the power to bring games to life! [...]

this has a nice concept. it made me examine my mouse, and called my brother inmediatelly. So we agreed, we gonna sculpt a new cover for my mouse, which is totally relaxing, taking the shape of my own hand. thanks to make me realise my mouse is too small and unconfortable for me
btw, your blog is full of spam, do somethin’ about it, hard to find any normal comments. cheers!
